The victory means Bath need to outscore Northampton Saints by at least one match point as they take on Gloucester Rugby in order to reach a second successive LV= Cup semi-final.
Bath's form is good heading to Kingsholm as they have won their last three matches in all competitions; however they have won just one of their last ten encounters with West Country rivals Gloucester, in 2009, and have not tasted success at Kingsholm since February 2006.
For Abendanon the stats make for worse reading having never won at Kingsholm, something the 26-year-old is desperate to change.
He said: "We haven't really given the Bath fans too much to shout about in the last couple of years against Gloucester so even though it is in the LV= Cup it would be good to finally change that.
"I have never actually won at Kingsholm so it would be nice to get the result personally and put that behind me.
"I think the one time the boys did win at Kingsholm while I have been at Bath I was injured in the warm up so hopefully my luck will change."
But Gloucester's Ryan Mills is adamant no one in a Cherry and White shirt will be throwing in the towel - especially when there are local bragging rights up for grabs.
"Even though we can't go through it is still a massive game - if you ask the supporters which matters the most they would say Bath," Mills said.
"I have played in the match a couple of times and they are brilliant, the crowd is always that bit louder and you can even see the older players getting pumped for it.
"It is the perfect match for us mentally because the boys are so up for it - it is a grudge match."
