Ward could get what would be only his second start of the season for the Aviva Premiership champions when they host London Welsh on Saturday, aiming to build on their perfect record in the competition so far.
With several senior players on international duty, and many young players likely to be given a chance by director of rugby Conor O'Shea, the 27-year-old is keen that all respond in the correct fashion.
After facing Welsh at the Stoop this weekend, they finish the pool stages with a trip to Ospreys and Ward believes it is important that both games result in wins.
"It has gone well for us so far in the competition," he said. "We had a tough game away at Northampton Saints and scored in the last minute to get a five-point win and did a good job against Bath in tough conditions.
"It will be a tough ask to beat both London Welsh and Ospreys, especially with Exeter doing well, but we will be looking to win both games.
"All teams use the LV= Cup to blood youngsters but also to continue a winning momentum.
"We have won eight on the bounce at Harlequins, and we want to make it nine, and then 11, and then 15. I want it to continue.
"I don't want the senior players coming back from international duty on the back of two defeats. As a squad and as a club we want to carry on the winning momentum that we have built up."
Harlequins have won their last eight matches in all competitions since losing 18-21 to Bath at The Rec in the Premiership on 23 November. Quins are unbeaten at the Twickenham Stoop since Saracens were the visitors on 30 September, and have won both their encounters in this season's LV= Cup against Northampton and Bath.
London Welsh's only victory in their last six games was 62-5 at home to Prato in the European Challenge Cup on 12 January. The Exiles have lost both LV= Cup ties so far to Exeter and Gloucester, and have lost on all three previous visits to the Stoop in all competitions.
London Welsh's last competitive victory over Harlequins was 45-12 at Twickenham in the 1st round
of the RFU Senior Cup in September 1972.
Quins have already beaten Welsh twice this season, with a 31-26 victory at the Kassam Stadium in the club's most recent Premiership fixture, while back in September they won 40-3 at the Stoop.
And Welsh fly-half Gordon Ross wants his side to draw on the experience of those previous meetings, highlighting the importance of astrong start at the Stoop on Saturday.
"Harlequins certainly aren't a bad side, being top of the Aviva Premiership and finishing top of their European group highlights their strength more than anything," said the former Scotland international.
"They will try and play their usual game, but it's a very good challenge for us and if we don't front up it could be a long day at the office.
"The start is going to be massive, as it has been the previous two times we have met them this season.
"I wouldn't have thought they will approach the game any differently, they will come in with the same mentality so we've got to keep battling."
