Cannon and co have been one of the surprise packages in the Aviva Premiership this season, morphing from relegation candidates to semi-final contenders in double-quick time.
The Adams Park outfit moved to continue that momentum in the notoriously tricky few weeks of Six Nations action this week by adding scrum-half Stuart Commins and centre Charlie Hayter to their squads for the rest of the season.
Commins arrives from Northampton Saints just in time to vye for selection as Joe Simpson heads off with England Saxons while Hayter has been recruited after some starring displays with Championship side Moseley.
The duo will be in contention for some gametime in the LV= Cup clash at Welford Road against Leicester Tigers this weekend and Cannon believes the squad is already benefiting from their arrival.
"The new players have definitely added some enthusiasm to the squad and have fitted in well already," said Cannon.
"The new faces will come with bags of energy and with the international window in general giving opportunities to some players who might not normally have as many opportunities it is an interesting time.
"They have settled in really well this week and it is nice to have some fresh players come in."
While Commins and Hayter will be looking to make an immediate impact, Cannon is also relishing the opportunity the LV= Cup offers up.
Cannon spent the majority of last season on the sidelines with a back injury and as a result is relishing being a key cog in the Wasps' machine again.
The 24-year-oldsecond row has 14 appearances to his name this term - with one try - and added: "After being out for most of last season it was important to get a full pre-season behind me this year and then go on to play as much first-XV rugby as I possibly could.
"I have managed to get a fair few games this year, the injury is not a concern at all and I am just really enjoying being a part of Wasps this year.
"There is a great atmosphere both on and off the field is certainly great compared to the problems we had last year.
"It's been great to see the back three having such a good time of it and running in plenty of tries and hopefully we can put in a good performance against Leicester this week."
