While their Aviva Premiership form has been hit and miss, Bath have been imperious in Europe and finished the pool stages unbeaten run with a 53-8 battering of the Romanians and will now face Stade Francais.
Tom Dunn scored on first senior start and Jack Cuthbert grabbed a hat-trick as Bath notched up nine tries and were 24-3 in front at half-time to leave Ford purring.
"All week it was about the word tempo," said Ford. "We wanted to try to get speed into the game, knowing that they probably couldn't live with us.
"We played some good rugby, controlled the tempo of the game very well, scored nine tries and we probably left a couple more out there."
Gloucester Rugby will also be in the next round after their 36-16 victory over Mont-de-Marsan and they will line up against Biarritz.
Henry Trinder scored twice in four minutes in the second half for the Cherry & Whites to finish off the spirited French side who had pulled the game back to 16-16.
Jonny May also grabbed two tries and Charlie Sharples one but there was concern for Gloucester with fly-half Freddie Burns limping off after just 12 minutes.
"He's tweaked his medial ligament in his knee and we'll have to wait and see how bad it is," said Gloucester director of rugby Nigel Davies. "It is a little bit unfortunate for Freddie."
London Wasps survived a late Newport Gwent Dragons fight-back to hold on as 20-19 winners and now face Heineken Cup champion Leinster the quarter-finals.
Along with a penalty try, Nicky Robinson recorded 15 points but a score from Ben Evans and penalties from Tom Prydie and Steffan Jones left Wasps clinging on to the result.
In the end Prydie's three missed penalties proved the difference in the tie and Robinson admitted Wasps were under no illusions of how hard it would be at Rodney Parade.
"We knew it was going to be tough," he said. "The Dragons made it difficult for us, particularly in the tackle area, and we couldn't get any flow at all."
Worcester Warriors ran riot against Gernika but were unable to qualify for the next round as Perpignan, who finished level with them on 25 points, went through on their superior head-to-head record.
Josh Drauniniu celebrated signing a new contract with a fine double while Errie Claassens and Nikki Walker also scored two apiece with five others also getting their names on the board on the way to a 71-19 mauling.
But, despite winning one and losing one against Perpignan, the Catalan side's three tries to one in those two encounters saw Worcester drop out.
London Irish finished their campaign on a high with a 17-7 win over Bordeaux-Begles which made it three consecutive wins in all competitions - that for the first time this season.
Jonathan Joseph scored the first try for the Exiles and 20-year-old wing Marland Yarde completed the win when he went over in the corner leading head coach Brian Smith to suggest he is ready to join Joseph in the England squad.
"Marland Yarde is an international winger, he is that now," said Smith. "He wouldn't be out of place on the left wing for England. He's a class act.
"He's really an electric player and I think Stuart Lancaster has a lot of great options, but I'm not sure there's many better than Marland Yarde playing in this league."
And London Welsh finished their first European campaign with a 39-17 defeat away to Stade Francais despite two tries for Phil Mackenzie.
Welsh had taken a brief lead when Alex Davies slotted over a third-minute penalty but that was soon to change as the hosts ran in three tries to lead 18-3 at the break.
Despite improving after half-time, the French side were not to be denied and left Welsh with a 50 per-cent record in the competition - won three, lost three.
