Ahead of a winner-takes-all final Pool Two encounter with Toulouse in the Heineken Cup on Sunday, Waldrom has spoken of his excitement at what may await his side between now and May 25 - the day of the Aviva Premiership final.
The No.8 believes the Tigers are timing their Premiership challenge perfectly after a fine run of form before the break for European action left them handily placed in third.
Victory against Toulouse at Welford Road on Sunday will prolong their Heineken Cup campaign, while the LV= Cup champions face a double header in that competition at the end of the month.
And though his participation in Aviva Premiership matches when they return on February 8 is in doubt due to potential England selection during the Six Nations, Waldrom is excited by the challenges awaiting the Tigers.
"We want to be involved in the later stages of every competition because it is great to be a part of big games," said the NewZealand-born 29-year-old.
"We don't really focus on other teams but if we make sure we are doing our jobs right and are preparing well we have an opportunity to do well this season.
"In the Aviva Premiership we are slowly edging our way towards the top two which is where we aim to be at this time of the season.
"A few of the boys have stepped up recently when we have had injuries and we know everyone is going to have a part to play between now and the end of the season.
"We believe we can be involved in the big competitions until the very end but we have to make sure we prepare right.
"We have a massive match on Sunday against Toulouse. We know what is going to happen - if we lose we are out of the Heineken Cup.
"Everyone is doing little bits in training and making sure they are getting themselves right because we know it is a big game and we have to go out there and give as much as possible."
Waldrom believes it is too close to call who is the favourite for Sunday's visit of Toulouse.
But with Welford Road a 24,000 sell-out, the former Crusaders star is keen to use whatever advantages are afforded to his side.
"The home support is going to be massive," he said. "You get an extra 10 or 15 per cent out of the team when the crowd is behind you.
"It is probably a 50-50 game with the way they have been playing, but with us having the home crowd.
"But it will be wonderful to play in. Welford Road will be our advantage, and I am really looking forward to getting started on Sunday."
