But after admitting not being able to put his finger on why his side's results dipped away from home, Bell is keen to no longer dwell on the reasons and instead wants to work on achieving many more positive results on their travels.
"It is strange because as players we never really noticed the away record," said the 29-year-old.
"The only reason we knew about it is because it was being quoted in the press before and after each game.
"We have been close on the road on a few occasions but in the league this season if you are not completely on your game you will come up short.
"It would be an interesting statistic to look at to see how many home victories there have been in the league compared to away.
"At the weekend we played very well, particularly in the second half. Everything we attempted to do we managed to do well and it was really pleasing to get five points.
"If we can carry on in the same vain at most places for the rest of the season there is no reason we can't get more results away from home.
"The main thing is that we keep improving and that is what we look to do, week after week. There are certain aspects of our game we are doing well and other aspects that we are not.
"There is always something we can do better and we are working hard in training to improve."
Wasps will have to wait for a chance to show their win at Welsh wasn't an isolated away victory, however, with Bath Rugby at home next live on Sky Sports on Sunday, followed by a month's break from league action with both an Amlin Challenge Cup and an LV= Cup double header to come.
But after suffering an Achilles tendon injury that saw him miss most of last season, Bell is enjoying being involved in fifth-placed Wasps' challenge for success in several competitions.
"It was very difficult when I got such a big injury," said the former Sale Sharks star.
"It came at a difficult time last year when the club was struggling with the amount of injuries being picked up and players having to retire.
"It was difficult to be on the sidelines watching on and not being able to do anything to help your team-mates.
"The medical staff here have been fantastic and have helped me no end - as have the coaching staff integrating me back into rugby.
"I am really pleased to be back out there and making a contribution to the team."
