A Welsh international who was part of Wales' 2007 Rugby World and 2008 RBS Six Nations squads, James has become a key part of the Gloucester squad impressing with his power in the scrum and ball carrying ability in the loose.
James, who has just returned to full training following a knee injury, was understandably pleased to remain at Gloucester as he told the club website today:
"I didn't hesitate when it came to signing on the dotted line because the time I've spent at Gloucester has been the best of my career."
"Now that my future is settled, I can fully concentrate on getting match fit and playing my part in the rest of this season and beyond."
Head Coach Bryan Redpath added:
"The past couple of weeks have shown that we're building a squad here at Gloucester that is capable of challenging for honours."
"Will has a big part to play in that. We've got some quality performers in the second row and real competition for places which is exactly as it should be."
