Phil Winstanley, Rugby Director at PRL said, "As with the other matches postponed today, we have real concerns about the safety of the spectator areas at The Recreation Ground in addition to concerns about access for the emergency services. Player and spectator welfare is always of paramount concern for us and under the circumstances, we reluctantly felt that an early postponement was the best option.
"Our specialist contractors, Sports and Stadia Services have reviewed the weather forecast over the next few days which is for very low temperatures with the threat of further snow. Having considered the conditions at The Rec they also believe that clearing the surrounding areas and disposing of the cleared snow is almost impossible.
"We will now work with both Clubs to identify an appropriate date for the rearranged fixture"
